Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #37

This week's sketch challenge had me stumped, until I remembered that I had a certain Martha Stewart border punch.  Once I remembered that, the rest of the card came together very quickly.  Here is the sketch:

Here is the card I came up with using the sketch as inspiration:

The sentiment stamps are from the Stamps of Life - sampler2love.  This set has all kinds of hearts, banners and sentiments for Valentines Day and I also have the matching dies.  The design paper is from an unknown source aka as my stash.  I also added some flat back rhinestones cuz it just isn't complete without a bit of bling!

Won't you consider playing along with us this week?  We are looking to fill some empty spots on the design team.  Here are the guidelines to be considered as part of the design team:

To submit that you'd like to be part of our design team please enter one of our challenges (enter every week for a higher chance to be chosen) and put DT at the end of your name when you submit.

Requirements of Design Team members:

  • must participate every week (if we get enough members we may make this requirement every other week instead). We will always have sketches done for a full month ahead of time to make this easier.
  • must have a blog to post details of your creation on
  • must have facebook or email to keep updated on the sketches as we will have a group for all of this information.
  • you will also be required to comment on our entrants each week.

I would love to see what you create using the sketch.  Don't forget to link it up on the blog and remember to tell them that Anna sent you!

I will be stepping down from the design team soon but will probably still play along with a lot of the challenges.

Good luck everyone!
Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday card

I love butterflies and I love the Cherry Cobbler cardstock from Stampin Up.  I also love glitter, ribbon, crochet flowers, flat back pearls and punches.  I incorporated all the above in this card:

I used a scallop punch, square punch, edge punch and my favourite butterfly punch.  The white cardstock from Best Creations has glittery butterflies.

Here is how I finished the inside:

I heat embossed the sentiment on a white oval shape and reversed the colours from the front of the card.
If you click on the pictures, you will also notice that the white squares and white butterflies were punched out of white glitter cardstock also from Best Creations.  I am really pleased with this card and have not made up my mind as yet as to who I will be sending it to.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday 199

As soon as I saw the Mojo Monday sketch challenge on Monday; I knew I would be playing along.  I love this week's sketch.  Without further ado, here's the sketch:

 And here is my card:

I have several Birthday sentiments and I will pick one of them to finish the inside when I decide who the recipient of this card will be.

Stamps I used - image - Hampton House - got it from Michael's in their $1.00 bin.  The sentiment is from Magenta - a Canadian company.  I love the royal blue with the lighter blue.  The border punch is from Recollections.  White ribbon is from my stash and the ribbon flower is from Michaels.  The designer paper is also from my stash and I have no idea who made it.  I love the yellow flower with the pearl which adds a nice colour contrast to the rest of the card.  I coloured the image with my Sikura glitter pens.  Hopefully, if you click on the picture, you will be able to see the glitter.

Tomorrow, Opa and I will be celebrating 39 years of wedded bliss.  I have started to make a card for Opa - just need to put it all together.  I also received my Card kit of the month today and the theme is Christmas cards.  Methinks I will be a busy little craftin' beaver in the days ahead.  Stay tuned!

Edited to say that I finished the inside - This card will be mailed to my younger sister who will be celebrating her 57th birthday on July 27:

I just hope it gets there in time!  I think she will like it.
