The best compliment evah!

I am feeling much better today and have gotten over the stomach flu I had.  Christmas Day at my daughter's house was fabulous!  DH & I got a DVD Player from my son and his girlfriend with 2 movies - Rainman and Shawshank Redemption.  My DD put together 2 200 pic photo albums of the last 4 years of Sierra and  Brooke.  It took her 3 days to sort through the pics on her computer - send them online to Walmart for printing and then once printed; sort them in chronoligical order to put in the albums.

I forgot to bring the cards with me to give to the girls.  Just as we were finishing dinner this evening their father Rob came over to drop off their dog, Molly as they are leaving for Ottawa to visit his family in the morning.  I gave Rob the cards to give the girls and after he arrived home, we got a call from them to thank me for the cards.  Sierra said "Oma makes the prettiest cards ever!"  She was also excited over the fact that I coloured the images.  I was so pleased to hear that they liked them.  I will have to stamp some images for her to colour so she can make cards with them.  She has already made a few cards with the supplies she got from us for Christmas.  She and her Daddy went to the mall on Boxing Day and he bought her 2 pairs of jeans and 2 new tops so she made him a thank you card.  I think I have created a card making monster!  I will have to keep stamp making supplies in a bag to take to their house as Sierra loves making cards with me.

Christmas cards for Sierra and Brooke

Here is the easel card I made for Sierra:

Sierra`s winter coat is pink and navy blue so I coloured the bear with pink and navy blue.  I also added some glitter to the snow on top of the candy cane lollie pop and 2 glittered snow flakes.

Here is the card I made for Brooke:

I added a white and blue glittered snow flake to Brooke`s card but the white one doesn`t show up very well.

The designer paper looks kind of busy but I am  still pleased at how they turned out.  With all the cutting and embossing with the cuttlebug and colouring of the images; these cards were kind of time consuming to make but I had fun making them and I am sure the girls will love them!

I have my own stamping store!

In Amsterdam of all places!

Posthumus is my maiden name (means after death in Latin) and I found this while blog surfing.  Here is a link to the store:  Posthumus stamps

Hubby's BD Card

My husband - aka Opa or Herb - turned 62 on Tuesday, Dec. 22nd.  He is a sports fanatic and loves to golf.

Here is the card I made for him.  He loved it!

I stole some tees out of his golf bag and adhered them to the card with tape.  He told me later that he rarely uses the tees I stole as they are too long!  I used my cuttlebug and nesties for the sentiment and also used the swiss dots folder and round punch for the golf ball.

I started to make Christmas cards for my 2 granddaughters last night and will take pics and post them here later today.

I made a

Birthday Card for my husband who will be 62 tomorrow.  Unfortunately he came home before I had a chance to  take a picture.  After I give it to him tomorrow, I will take a picture and post it here on my blog.  I went with a golf theme and made an easel card.  I can't wait to see the reaction on his face when he reads the sentiment!

Sierra's Christmas cards

This is the card Sierra (and I) made for her parents:

Here is the inside of the card:

The following pictures are of Sierra and the cards she made for Mommy & Daddy, Grandma Smith and Grandpa Smith.  Please excuse the dirty face and top which show remnants of breakfast, lunch and ink!

Sierra loves the Snow Swirled Stamp Set from Stampin Up and I might just get her the set.  She really loved the tree and snow flake stamps in the set.  She was more than happy to pose for me with the cards we made. I did most of the assembly but she did the majority of the stamping.  She told me that the next time I come over, I have to bring stamps, inks and paper.  I wonder if she will become a future Stampin Up Demo or Close to my Heart Consultant.

The kit we used is from Basic Grey - Eskimo Kisses.  Inks we used were Versa Color & Versa Magic from Tsukineko.  I just love the wide range of colours that they offer and have quite a few in my stash.

Just call me .........

A craft enabler!  Yesterday morning Opa and I looked after Sierra and Brooke so Mommy & Daddy could go shopping and out for a nice relaxing lunch.  I brought a Christmas card kit with me along with some stamps and inks.  While Opa kept Brooke entertained downstairs; Sierra and I made 3 Christmas cards together at the dining room table.

1 for her other grandma; 1 for her other grandpa and 1 for Mommy and Daddy.  She had a blast!  She picked the cards from the kit she wanted to make and I helped her with them.  We added some snowflake stamps; a christmas tree and sentiments along with some rubons that were in the kit and some other rubons I had. It didn't take Sierra very long to learn how to clean the stamps and she also made sure the stamp pads would not dry out by putting the lids back on right away.

I took some pics of Sierra with the cards but unfortunately; my camera is in the car and Opa has the car right now.  I will have to wait until he gets back with the car to upload them so I can show you.

Brooke is like her Mom in that she just wants to go, go, go and has a very short attention span.  Sierra; on the other hand; is more like me in that she enjoys making things with her hands.  She will be getting lots of crafty stuff from Oma for Christmas.  I plan to cut; emboss and edge punch some card stock for her and will also be giving her some patterned papers.  She has some child proof washable ink pads along with some stamps and I am looking forward to spending more time with her making cards for her friends and family.

It's been a while

since I posted. I'm well - just haven't felt like posting. I have some new stamps and plan to ink them up and colour them tonight. Hopefully I will have a card or 2 to share soon. I need to get busy and make some more Christmas cards to mail out as well. Hopefully I'll have some time for that tomorrow night and on the weekend. I am looking forward to my vacation later this month. I will be off work starting Dec. 23rd and don't have to go back until Jan4th. Yee Haw! Hubby and I plan to spend a night away after Christmas as he will be off work as well.

Hubby was diagnosed with a twisted bowel recently and will have to under go a bowel resection surgery next month. The Dr. told him he would be in hospital for 4 - 5 days; but if I know my husband; he will be begging the Dr. to let him come home sooner. He hates hospitals! I plan to take a few days of vacation to stay home with him in case he needs me. The Dr. told him he would be off work for 4 - 5 weeks after the surgery. I'm sure he will be OK and I have complete faith in the Dr. who will be performing the surgery.

We finally got some heavy wet snow yesterday. We also got some rain mixed in which made for a slow sloppy drive in to work. I can't believe that Texas and Virginia got snow before we did here in the Great White North! That has got to be a first! Our street has been plowed and salted so no more snow on the streets. There isn't a lot of snow anywhere else anymore either. It is freezing cold today - needed to wear my boots, gloves, scarf and pull my hood of my winter coat up over my head to keep warm today.
