1st Christmas card for Christmas 2011

Here is the 1st Christmas card I made for Christmas.  I made this card on Wednesday evening.

The base is navy blue - the image is from Stampendous; ribbon & ribbon flower is from my stash & I used the        Petals a Plenty embossing folder from Stampin Up.  The rectangle piece behind the image is actually a silver but hard to see.  I glittered the entire image using a technique I learned a year ago using a piece of double sided adhesive which I cut using a scallop rectangle nestibility in my Cuttlebug.

Here is another view:

This view shows the silver cardstock and glitter.

WCMD

Today is World Card Making Day.

I made a card but will have to edit this post tomorrow with a picture.  It is too dark right now to get a decent photo.

Edited - Oct. 8 - I forgot all about this post but I do have the picture of the card I made last week for WCMD.  I based my card on this sketch:

Here is the sketch:

And here is the card I made:

The scalloped edge is actually a length of pale pink ribbon and I layered a length of white satin ribbon onto it. I made all the ribbon flowers, embossed the sentiment with pale pink embossing powder and added the punched yellow butterflies to add some interest.  I also added 3 white flat back pearls.  I am quite pleased with this card.
