AHSC #213

I'm up on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog again this week with my interpretation of sketch #213 as part of the design team.

Here is the sketch we were provided with:

Here is the card I created using the sketch as inspiration:

I started off with a pink (Doll pink by Simon Says Stamp) card stock base.  I then added a layer of Cupcake Swiss Dot by Doodlebug Designs which is part of the 12 x 12 paper pack - Cream & Sugar.  This particular paper pack has several different petite prints which are perfect for cards.  I find that sometimes the 12 x 12 papers have prints that aren't really appropriate for card making as sometimes the prints are too large.  I added the white swirly die cut and Happy Birthday die cut which I received from a member of the Facebook group Canadian Die Cut exchange.  Each month the members send each other no less than 20 die cuts and embossed papers.  I added the maroon pearls to give this card some interest.  I am very pleased with this card and let's face it, you can never have too many birthday cards!

AHSC #211

I really like this week's sketch by Michelle at Atlantic Hearts.  It didn't take me long to come up with a card.  Without further ado, here is the sketch:

Here is the card I made using the sketch:

I started with a yellow card stock base.  I added a pink stitched die cut circle as well as a strip of pink card stock.  I added the striped stitched die cut circle.  The design paper is from a pad of 6 x 6 paper from Your Next Stamp.  The die cut flower I added was originally white but I coloured it with my Spectrum Noir coloured pencils.  It was sent to me by a member of the facebook group Canadian Die Cut Exchange.  I used a punch for the ribbon and added a bright pink enamel dot to it.  I also die cut the sentiment from pink card stock.  I decided that the card looked kind of bare so I added some more bright pink enamel dots to finish the card.  I like this card and it will be going to the Housekeeping Dept. of the resort in Michigan where I am currently staying with my husband and our good friends.
