Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #240

I was very happy when I read that the Merry Monday Christmas challenge was to use bells.  I have the perfect Christmas bell die that I love and decided to play along with this challenge

I started out with a gold pearlized base.  I bought a pack of card bases and matching envelopes at Michael's last fall.  The die cut bells are by Cottage Cutz and the die cut sentiment is by Yvonne Creations.  I used SU's Cherry Cobbler card stock to cut the bells and sentiment. I added some sparkly maroon enamel dots from Your Next Stamp to finish the card.  I now have 2 Christmas cards made for this year.  I am hoping to make more Christmas cards so I am not scrambling at the last minute to make them for this year.  I love this card and the photo does not do this card justice as it is a lot prettier in real life.

Mojo Monday 489

When I saw this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge, I decided to play along and make a birthday card.

Here is the sketch:

Here is the Birthday card I created using the sketch as inspiration:

I started with a white card stock base and then added a layer of design paper from SU's It's My Party paper pack.  I added a layer of Su's Melon Mambo card stock and added another layer of design paper from the It's My Party paper pack.  I die cut the white and yellow card stock with MFT Stitched Fishtail Flags Dies and added the sentiment which is by MFT Sweet Birthday Wishes which is stamped in SU's Melon Mambo ink.  I used SU's Melon Mambo card stock to die cut the stitched circle.  The cupcake is also from the Sweet Birthday Wishes stamp set and I used Sakura pens to colour it in.  I love enamel dots and couldn't resist adding a few to the card as well.  The enamel dots are from Michael's Recollection.  I love this cheery card and wish I could have taken a better photo as it is much prettier in real life.

Christmas Card Challenge #8

I've been wanting to get a head start on my Christmas cards so decided to play along with the Christmas Card Challenge.  The challenge this week is a Photo Challenge:

Here is my card for the challenge:

 I decided to go with the gold trees and created this card using a stamp from Stampin Up's Peaceful Pines stamp set.  I heat embossed the tree with Detail Gold embossing powder.  I started off with an Ivory card stock base.  I then added a layer of gold card stock and then another layer of ivory.  The ovals are die cuts from Cottage Cutz - cross stitch ovals.  The photo does not do this card justice as it is a lot prettier in real life.  At this time of year it is hard to get a good photo as I had to use my flash which is reflected on the card.  All in all I am very pleased with this card and am happy to have at least one card made for Christmas!

AHSC #203

I love this week's sketch and had fun making a card for it.  Here is the sketch:

Here is the card I made using the sketch as inspiration:

I started out with a yellow card stock base and then layered the white butterfly embossed panel.  I love butterflies.  I used a Taylored Expressions die for the sentiment.  The sentiment is by Hampton Art and I used my Hampton Art Stamp Perfect to center the sentiment onto the die cut.  I used Majestic Blue ink by Versafine.  The butterfly die cut which was cut using the yellow card stock is by Memory Box.  I added a some tiny light green rhinestones by Couture Creations to give the butterfly some bling.  I am very happy with how my card turned out.

Seize The Birthday Challenge

I made a Birthday card the other day and this morning I discovered that I could enter it into the Seize the Birthday Challenge as their theme is Anything Goes.  The only stipulation was that it has to be a Birthday Card.

 Here is the Birthday Card I made:

I started with an ivory cardstock base.  I then added a panel of the design paper which I have had in my stash for a long time and I do not know who made it.  I then die cut the smaller flowers and leaves from Spellbinders - Rose Creations and shaped the flowers using Heartfelt Creations Flower Shaping Kit and adhered the flowers and leaves using glue dots.  I die cut the sentiment which is by Little B and added a bit of shimmer to the sentiment using Close to my Heart's clear shimmer brush.  I also added some pink pearls to dot the i and as centers for the flowers as well as adding some accent pearls.  I love how this card turned out and it is much prettier in real life.  It is hard to get a good photo of the design paper.
