AHSC # 33

Wow - we're up to #33 already!  Where has the time gone!  I guess time flies when you're having fun and I have been having lots of fun creating cards for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  And here is this week's fabulous sketch which was created by Michelle.

And here is the card I made using the sketch:

Card base is white.  I love the combination of light blue and dark blue which is from my stash.  I also used a Martha Stewart snowflake edge punch.  If you click on the picture you will see that there are embossed snowflakes.  I used a Fiskar's punch to punch out the 2 1/2 inch circle which is popped up on foam tape and die cut a light blue and white snowflake which was cut using my Cuttlebug.  The snowflake is by Joy Crafts. I also added a light blue pearl gem to the center of the snowflake. I also added a strip of glittered silver tape which is from CTMH.  This sentiment was stamped with Versa Fine Majestic Blue and is from The Stamps of Life.  I was pleasantly surprised at how well this card turned out.  This card was made for http://kardsforkidshsc.blogspot.ca/ and will be going to a child at The Hospital for Sick Children here in Toronto.  I hope this card will put a smile on a child's face and that the child will like it as much as I do.  I love making cards for the children and am on the Smiley Team for Kards for Kids.

This is a fairly easy sketch so please join us and enter a card in this week's challenge.  You might end up sporting a top 3 badge on your blog if you do.  Don't forget to tell them that Anna sent you.

Mojo Monday & The Paper Players

Once again I found 2 challenges that I could incorporate for 1 card.  I especially love sketch and theme challenges.  Mojo Monday has a sketch that I really like and is easy to do.  The Paper Players has a theme of Evergreen so I pulled out my favourite SU set Snow Swirled and here is what I came up with:

I stamped the tree with SU's Wild Wasabi ink and added some small rhinestones for some added bling.  I love the ribbon with the trees as it fits both the theme and my stamped image.  The background script paper is from a 6 x 6 paper pad - Echo Park - For the Record 2.  The green gingham paper is from a 6 x 6 paper pad by Simple Stories - Harvest Lane.  The base of the card stock is cream as is the panel that I stamped the tree on and the green card stock is from my stash.

Here is the Mojo Monday sketch:

And here is the Paper Players theme challenge.

I am very happy with how this card turned out and hope that the recipient of this card will like it as much as I do.

Freshly Made Sketches meets Merry Monday

I love it when I can combine 2 challenges to make a card.  The Merry Monday challenge is to create a card with an all white or all ivory base and to use brown or kraft for the sentiment and for accents.  I chose to use the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches as I thought the sketch would be ideal for the Merry Monday challenge.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card based on both challenges:

I chose to use all white and the 2 embossed panels are from my scraps box.  The main embossed panel is Whimsy by Lifestyle Crafts.  The smaller embossed panel is Petals a Plenty by SU.  I love it when I can start using up all my scraps.  The sentiment which was stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia is from The Stamps of Life - Lights 4 Christmas and was stamped onto one of the  Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklets 1 die.  The goldish lace trim is from my stash.  The poinsettia die is by Dee's Distinctively Die set Poinsettia.  I blinged up the poinsettia with some gold coloured teeny tiny rhinestones.  This sketch would work for a variety of dies, trim and embellishments.  I love how this card turned out and I will probably use it again using different dies, paper, ribbon and sentiments.  It can also be used for different occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #69

I love playing along with the various sketch challenges that are out there.  This week's Paper Craft Crew challenge is one that I really like.  Here is the sketch:

And here is the card I made using the sketch as inspiration:

I couldn't fit all 3 squares on the card the way the sketch shows so I opted to do them in a diamond pattern. It works for me!  The base of the card is white.  All the other card stock and glitter paper is from my scraps box.  I also added 3 rhinestones to give the card that finishing touch.  The sentiment and image were stamped with Versa Color Ladybug red and are from the CTMH Santa Claus Holiday.  This card will be going to a child at the Hospital for Sick Children here in Toronto.  I am on the Smiley Team for Kards for Kids HSC and we make cards year round for the children.  I will probably add some glitter to the pom pom on Santa's hat.  I am very pleased with this card and hope that the child who receives it will like it too.  If you are interested in joining the Smiley Team for Kards for Kids HSC; just let me know and I will direct you to Bela who looks after this venture.  We have a lot of fun making cards and have several sponsors and have special events and challenges to keep us on our toes.
