Last card for 2008 and 1st card for 2009

Hubby's birthday was on Dec. 22nd and this is the card I made for him using the Birthday Cuttlebug folder. This was a very easy card to make, but I struggled with the silver ribbon quite a bit as it was shiny and slippery. He liked the card I made for him. I also made him a gift card holder and when I find it, I will post a picture of it.

I decided to try a sketch challenge and while blog surfing, came upon this sketch which appealed to me. You can read all about it on Leigh's blog which can be found here. Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

Products used: Papers by Imaginisce Fairest of them All.

Stamps: Valentine Clear Stamps from Ink-a-Dinka-Doo

Clear Rhinestones from Queen & Co.

Ink: Archival Inks - Maroon.

Punches: Heart punch by Fiskars and for the corners I used Fiskars 4 way punch and embossing. The 4 way punch has 4 different corner punches and they also emboss if you press down hard enough. If you click on the card, you will be able to see the hearts on the cream paper with the maroon heart.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card and as a fairly new paper crafter; I am pleased at how this turned out.

Edited to add that I also entered this card for Ingrid's draw for some blog candy.

Fabulous work! I love the Cuttlebug embossing folders too, they make beautiful cards so quick don't they? Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog, I appreciate you taking the time to do that!
