Try Stampin' on Tuesday - Happy Birthday!

When I saw the sketch on the Try Stampin' on Tuesday's blog; I knew I wanted to play along.  My first instinct was to use the sketch to make a Christmas card but then I remembered that I had to make a Birthday card for a very special friend.

Here is the sketch:

And here are the cards I created using the sketch:

After I finished the card; I felt it needed a little more; hence the ribbon bow.  In your honest opinion; should I leave the bow on or take it off?

Card stock is from my stash.  The design paper is from Wild Rose Studios - 6 x 6 Paper Pad - Butterfly Garden.  The sentiment is from Stamps of Life - Ticket to Stamp and was stamped using Versafine Majestic Blue.  The roses were made using My Favourite Things Die - Mini Rolled Roses.  I added cream coloured flat back pearls and the leaves made using a Martha Stewart punch - Rose Leaf which I also embossed using an embossing tool.  The pink satin ribbon is also from my stash.

All in all, I am very pleased with how this card turned out.  The most difficult part was making those roses.  The very first rose I made when I got the die turned out perfect but it is red, so couldn't very well use it on this card.  This card will soon be mailed to a very special lady who is a very caring, loving and warm person and in her own small way is making a difference in the world.  Unfortunately, I cannot reveal her name here as she reads my blog.  I'm sure she will be tickled pink when she receives this card.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Oma,

Love that name - used to call my grandmother from Germany that. I love the paper and flowers on your card. Looking at both with and without the bow, I think I would leave it off. Sometimes less is more. Thanks for playing with Try Stampin on Tuesday - Come back soon!

What a lovely card and pretty flowers! I enjoy making flowers myself to put on cards. :) It's always a personal preference when it comes to adding things on cards. I think your card looks fine with the added bow, but looks fine without a bow too since you have floral paper in the background. I know, I'm not much help in that area. lol Thanks for playing with us this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.
